It was an honour to be invited to the Ferrari North Shore Service Centre at 12 Barcoo Street Roseville which was specifically chosen as the venue for the 488 Pista Australasian Premiere in order to highlight the technological advancements and achievements of this spectacular car within an ultra-modern, high-tech workshop environment.
The car made a dynamic Australasian debut, being lowered from one of the seven ultra-high tech Corghi hoists within the space, allowing guests to get up close with the car’s underbody technology as well as its impressive cutting-edge design elements. Also on display were a number of classic V8 and special series Ferrari cars from throughout the decades to illustrate the impeccable heritage of the Ferrari 488 Pista. These included the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, 430 Scuderia, 430 Scuderia Spider 16M, 458 Speciale and 458 Speciale Aperta.
The Ferrari 488 Pista is powered by the most powerful V8 engine in the Maranello marque’s history and is the company’s special series sports car with the highest level yet of technological transfer from racing. In fact the name, meaning “track” in Italian, was chosen specifically to testify to Ferrari’s unparalleled heritage in motor sports.
