James has been responsible for some of the most successful classic car auctions in the Southern Hemisphere and has achieved world record prices for a variety of marques and models including Lamborghini, Holden, and Riley. Previously Head of Collectors Cars for Sotheby’s Australia and prior to that Bonhams & Goodman, James was also the classic vehicle specialist for Theodore Bruce Auctions, Australia’s oldest auction house established in 1878. He was a member of the 2012 RACV Motorclassica Management Team with responsibility for the auction at that event and also ran the hugely successful 2013 and 2014 Motorclassica Auctions in Melbourne on behalf of Theodore Bruce. The 2015 Motorclassica Auction, again led by James, was the most successful classic car auction by dollar value ever held outside of the USA or Europe. James is currently a consultant to Mossgreen, Australia’s leading auction house.
